Default X51 airbox - Plenum

For those of you with who have done the X51 airbox install or/and the Plenum install. Do you have problems with uneven idle and CEL?

I replied on 6 speed no, and that is still the case.

If you are having problems it probably is an air air leak caused by what ever adapter you chose to use at the Throttle Body. I used the following hose and cut it to length about a 1/2" from Boostcontroller.com, ASCSH2-325BK. The dealer I bought the air box from said a certain Hoover Vacuum Belt worked well too. I posted the part # here or on 6speed.

Even with the correct size adapter it is a tight fit on the TB. I found I had to trim some of the X-51 hose to get it to fit on the TB correctly in addition getting the clamp on correctly can be a little tricky.

If you are having a problem with idle and CEL I am about 99% sure it is that area. There really is nothing else that I can think of that could go wrong.

Thanks!!! I will recheck this area. I see that the workshop has cutted the old hose to fill up the difference between the TB and the new hose. I have retighten all clamps but maybe thats not enough.

Couldnt find ASCSH2-325BK, only #ASCSHS2-X. Silicone Straight Hose, SHORT - 2 inch length. Is it the same as you got?

Probably, if the inside diameter is the same 3.25".

Length doesn't matter you only need a 1/2".

Here is some info from one of my old posts;

As far as Adapters I bought the following from BoostController.com and after cutting it length with an exacto blade it worked perfectly;

Silicone Straight Hose, SHORT - 2 inch length #ASCSHS2-X

Size - 3.25 inch ID (add 5.00)

Color - Black

The dealer who sold me the parts also recommended the following; Hoover Vacuum belt for the Self Propelled WindTunnel is a perfect fit (part number 38528-035).

I also had to trim a little bit off the edge of the x-51 Boot to get it to fit correctly on the TB. I also had to push the clamp on in that same area with a screw driver.

dnd, could you post a pic of your setup? "A picture is worth a thousand words".

Thanks.

Checked boostcontroller.com, but they only accept orders and payments from US and Canada.

Since I live in Norway, can anybody be so helpfull to order the parts I need and help me ship to me? I will of course pay upfront for all costs.

I wil check if someone in my home town can help me also, but I don't think so.

Thanks.

Default Sure

I can mail you what I have, they will work but are not perfect.
Or I could buy it have it shipped to you.

e-mail me at ddodd100@charter.net or call me at 205-981-1022

Thanks dndodd,

If I understand you correct, the Silicone Straight Hose, SHORT #ASCSHS2-X
size 3.25 ID is not the perfect solution.

Is the Hoover Vacuum belt, part number 38528-035 the better solution?

It worked perfect for me. I only had a 2" piece. I used both ends by experimenting with one and using the other. The experiment is usable as is the center piece it just doesn't have a perfectly straight edge.

The vacuum belt is what the dealer said their mechanic used on their conversions.

Has anyone figured out what you would need from boostcontroller.com for a silicone hose replacment for the stock 997S airbox. Bacisally like what Fabspeed does but a heck of a lot cheaper is price.

thanks!
