Default Is it OK to drive without Exhaust tips ?

So im going to try to get my tips painted/powdercoated black.
Is it OK to drive with no tips installed for a few days ?
Am i gonna give myself CO poisoning ?
The tip attachment points on the 997 are almost outside the rear bumper, compared to the ones up in the engine bay on the 996.
Thx

Don't melt your bumper.

Yeah, what Frank said. The air gap in the tips provide insulation for the (plastic) bumper. It could get ugly - probably just discoloration, but the fix is a repaint... at the worst... well, you know.

When I had my AWE installed they had to overnight tips to my shop...they gave me a rental for the exact same reason mentioned above...the tips are needed for exhaust clearance on the 997 and they have to maintain something like 1/2 inch from exhaust and the rear valence. Depending on how long and how much I had to drive the car until the tips came it the shop manager was worries about scortching/burning my rear valence. Thus the rental car. Fortunately Fed Ex was good for "absolutely overnight" part of their ads and I got my car back the next day.

But it is worth thinking about.
