Default Its nice to be back in a Porsche 996TT to 997TT Pics

Its been about 2 years since I sold my widebody supercharged Porsche 996. In the meantime I have been floating around between a few other cars, and finally I felt its time to build another Porsche. Having already built a crazy 996 in the past, I felt this time I really needed to top myself. The new project for 2007-2008 is converting a 996 Turbo into a 997 Techart GT Street Turbo.

Currently the car is at 3C in Culver City converting from a 996TT to a 997TT body. Thanks to Misha who helped me out with all the details and supplied hisconversion fenders.

Thanks to Mike and Todd at Evolution Motorsports EVOMS for helping me out with the engine details. I will have the Stage 4 Kit making 600HP.

Thanks to Mark and Ryan at CEC Wheels for sourcing me one of the first Techart GT Street Kits to arrive in the United States.

And finally thanks to BASF for supplying the 997 GT3RS Green paint.

I will post more pictures after we get the body kit in and prepped.

My Old Car.

Pictures of my current conversion

.......Whuuuf?! Ton of work, eh? Luciky, you must be fortunate enough to satisfy only one person the the car's chain-of-life: you.

I suspect this is all merely cosmetic. You're not updating the suspension nor engine, right? (Then what's the point?)

Was thinking the same thing. The difference between a 996TT and a 997TT is big.

It's not like the difference between the post 2002 996 w/ the 3.6L engines, and the current 997 w/ the 3.6L engines. Those are very comparable.

But, the 996TT and 997TT are not so alike.

Maybe do the cosmetics and then toss in the EVOMS kit for the TT? That would scream!

Given the cost of the 996TT and all the cosmetics, wouldn't it be cheaper to just get a 997TT?

You missed the line in his post: "Thanks to Mike and Todd at Evolution Motorsports EVOMS for helping me out with the engine details. I will have the Stage 4 Kit making 600HP."

Don't get it at all! Seems like a true 997TT would be cheaper...Also don't understand why you would want to represent a 996TT as a 997TT...

There's a mod-shop in the LA area that takes trashed 996s (Carreras and turbos) and puts 997 style body works on them and then ebays them. They're not inexpensive and rather tacky.
