Maybe this will keep you pacified until the top gear version is available in full; it's in German but great to watch nonetheless...

I set my DVR to record the series and low and behold there are 4 show there when I got home. Now if they would leave in the British Commercials I would feel as if I was back over there.

Yep, C2S outdragged the R8 by about 1/4 car length don't know what the distance was as they didn't say. All at the start of course, R8 was closing slowly.
R8 was 2 seconds faster around the top gear track on a wet track. Not really surprising considering the 4WD. This was a standard C2S owned by Richard Hammond.
Not really sure why the compared the C2S as the R8 is a pure 2 seater. I imagine a GT3 would have really given the R8 some grief in both events.

Here's a site that has a lot of the Top Gear/Fifth Gear episodes available online (including the C2S/R8 comparison): http://www.finalgear.com/

After digesting 5 episodes in last two days this is truly one of the best performance car shows that's ever been made. The British sense of humor is at it's best. Where they are testing the car pulling the trailer (caravanning). Then end up burning the whole trailer to the ground (after a cooking accident) just had me rolling on the floor laughing.
