Exactly my sarcastic point. At 24 lbs 5 oz front and 30 lbs 13 oz rear they are way too heavy, are cast instead of forged, etc. Heck, 19x8 / 19x11 Lobster Claws (22 lbs 4 oz / 27 lbs 12 oz) are superior and properly sized for 235/305 rubber. A car like the GT3 / GT3 should have forged wheels in the 20 / 22 lb range maximum. Think about it, 8 lbs saved per wheel -- must be why so many GT3 owners buy aftermarket wheels and sell off their oems. Looks like marketing trumping engineering yet again.
You can put 305s on an 11" wheel easy -- it's right in the middle of the tire's specification range. In fact, a 12" wheel from the GT3 is stretching things a bit.

They got away from using the heavier wheel as the PSC's that come on the car are 2-3 lbs ligher than the non PSC's. I am so tempted with the GT3 wheels...I just love the way they look.
Ron did you go with the PF rotors yet??

The PFC rears are now made for the 997S, but not yet the fronts. I found one company that makes light-weight 2-piece slotted rotors, but they are very expensive (I think $2k a set). I'll wait for the PFCs at about $1200. My OEM are holding up pretty well already -- I'll see how the PFC 97s work the next 2 days at Lime Rock. So far around town trying to clean off the rotors I can say they are very dusty. I have to get some heat into them to bed them in.

Frankly, I was surprised to see that turbo wheels are as heavy as they are, considering they are forged. Years ago the Fuchs alloys (also forged) were significantly lighter than nearly anything else people could find to put on their 911s.

They also eats the brake discs fast.
Thats why I'll go for ceramics, same or better braking with no dust
