I haven't made any claims of superiority for the Nav-TV Bluetooth Adapter versus anything else because I have no experience with any other adapters. The Nav-TV unit does allow you to use the cell phone's "phonebook" with the phonebook accessible through the PCM by pressing the "Tel" button and then navigating through the various options using the PCM buttons and *****, including scrolling to an entry in the synced phonebook, selecting it, and dialing it using the PCM screens, *****, and buttons.

Could you please describe how the Dension unit works?

Thanks.

Do you use the car's existing SIM card I/O arrangement on the PCM?

I'm not sure what you mean. You do not have to do anything with the SIM card slot on the PCM. You select the "Tel" button at the bottom of the PCM panel below the screen and then press the "set" button. You then select "Phone Settings" which will give you a screen that will show a PIN that you use to pair your cell phone with the "Tooki."

Can the Nav-Tv adapter still be used if you have the Dension unit fitted?

Spotted you post on Renntech so thought i'd passs by. Can you kindly confirm: -

1. The install location for the unit;
2. How is pairing accomplished? Is it all via the PCM screen or directly on the unit?
3. Does the SMS side of the system work too?

Thanks

1) behind the PCM unit - the installer removed the side panel on the passenger side of the center stack is to access where he connected it.

2) see my earlier post above - it is via the PCM screen.

3) since this module emulates the functions of the factory GSM module, I would think you couldn't have both hooked up and functioning at the same time as the PCM is only looking for one telephone module. This is just my supposition, of course since I am not the designer.

I do not know for sure, but I don't see why it wouldn't work along side the Dension Gateway iPod adapter. It would just be one more device that is in the MOST ring. In my car, I have the Nav-TV iPod adapter, the Nav-TV satellite radio adapter, and this Bluetooth adapter, so you can definitely have multiple devices added to the MOST ring.

I would suggest you contact Nav-TV to find out for sure. There is a contact link on their website (www.nav-tv.com).

Thanks for the info. This would lead me to believe that they may have installed the unit into the MOST bus as opposed to utilising the existing tel wiring in the harness where the OEM equipement would connect to.

Still awaiting info direct from the manufacturers, but being the UK its never so easy.

I guess the next question is does anyone know who the Nav-TV agents in the London are that would potentially be doing the install?

AFAIK, Auto Audio in Park Royal, North London will be handling their main distribution in this end of the woods. They're not the best for pricing mind.

Yes, it is definitely installed into the MOST fiber optic "ring" just as the Nav-TV and Dension iPod adapters are.

Is this something that a dealer will install when available?

I would think so, but it would probably depend on the individual dealer. I had mine done at a high-end car stereo installer.

I take that this is not a Porsche product. Who makes this device and how do I learn more about it?
