Microwave problem?!
Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but thought I'd ask.
I just moved to a new house. My kitchen is on the otherside of the garage wall. If I've set the alarm on my 997, and then turn on the microwave it sets the alarm off. I first accused my wife of putting something on the key fob in the drawer that set it off, but since have had this happen 4-5 times, always within 10 seconds of the microwave being started.
Any ideas?

Interior motion sensors are set off by Microwave ovens.

There have been other reports of random alarm activation. I've had it, too. I don't see how it could be microwave oven related, though...

Believe it or not, this exact problem was reported once before on this forum.

Interior intrusion alarm is a microwave based motion detector. It is sensitive to microwaves. You oven leaks.microwaves.

If you quickly lock the doors twice (with the key fob), the "passenger compartment monitoring system" will be disabled for that lock cycle... p. 27 in the US 2006 Owner's Manual.

And most auto security experts will also advise you to lock the car in the garage, as a thief can still make his way in there. A closed garage just provides the miscreant with a quiet, and out-of-the way place to do his "work."
