Oh my. That's a tough one to beat. I'll keep you posted.
Good job. I hope I can do as well.

What made the deal truly extraordinary is that I had pretty much no options - sport heated seats, fire extinguisher, mats. Often you hear about good discounts off a totally loaded car... It is possible and to get my deal I had to be willing to fly 400 miles to a dealer and drive the car home (in the end, my local dealer came close enough to warrant my not taking a trip).

I was tempted by the 2007 S with the X51 power pack from the start but was reluctant to actually buy it because it stickered for $117k and I knew that when I sold it that nobody really factors in the X51 price.
So I told the dealer that I was very interested but the price was a factor. After a few trips to see him and a few weeks of hoping the car would not sell, we agreed on $102k.... so nearly 13% off msrp.
Is that a good deal? I think so. Could I have done better? Maybe... But I want to go back and participate in dealer events and build a relationship with them.
I am happy, they are happy and that is all that counts..

I negotiated a 5% discount on my order. Off the shelf could be possible to negotiate 7-10% discount. The more option the better the discount...
Good luck with your purchase!

As with Skydriving, I got zero discount because i had no leverage as no delear within 200 miles had an allocation for a T4S. There was one on the lot the dealer offered 8% off but i didnt like the two-tone interior so I was willing to pay up for what i wanted. This was all mitigated by two reasons , 1 - dealer threw in $3k of aftermarket goodies (full clear bra treatment, V1, ipod install) and more importantly 2 - I leased it through my company so i basically got a 34% discount so I was clearly more sensitive about getting exactly what i wanted vs nickel and diming the dealer.

Kenny, let's see your T4S! I am loving mine.
I had a 996 TT owner ride in it the other night. He was impressed with the tight performance from a Targa. I think he had his doubts. :->

Ahh, black and tan. Nice choice!
Are those the classic Carrera wheels? I got those, they were the most visually apealing to me by far.
I posted my options list over here:

What all did you load it with?
Did you get the Sport/Chrono? If so, waht do you think of the Sport button?
