Default Switched power supply under the bonnet.

I'm planning on installing a laser jammer (probably Blinder M20) for the front only. Since I have a laser detector in my Escort, I don't need to hear the alerts from the jammer, I just need it to jam, so I won't have to bring any wires into the passenger compartment. This should make the install a fair amount easier. What I need however is a source of power under the bonnet that is switched with the ignition. Can anyone help me locate one?

I converted my non-switched power outlet in the passenger seat footwell
to "switched" .

Go to your fuse panel .
It has 4 sections : from the top : A ,B,C,D and E ( at the bottom )

Fuses E-1 and E-2 ( bottom left ) are for the power seats ( big hefty wires )

( I figured they should be able to handle my I-pod power ) lol

Tap into one of those two wires and run a wire to where you want to go.
It's easy to hide behind the footwell carpeting.

PS: Don't forget to splice one of those in-wire ~ 7.5 Amp fuses into it .

Are you not planning on putting a switch for the jammer in the interior? If so you probably should put the switch in and even the alarm. You should turn off your jammer as soon as possible after you have been targeted and slowed down, or else the police will know you have one. The second reason is that radar/laser detectors seem to give off many more false signals than the blinder does, not sure why. imho.

As long as laser "jammers" remain legal, I'm not concerned about switching it off. I doubt very much that a LEO will jump in his car and chase me down because his laser jammed. He'll just shoot the next car that comes over the rise. Nor am I worried about the policeman being upset by my prominently displayed Escort suctioned cupped to my dash. If I get nabbed for speeding, I'll pay the fine or take defensive driving for breaking the law, which is what I'm doing when I exceed the posted speed limit. So I'm trying to simplify the install by eliminating having to bring a line through a grommet and into the passenger compartment. But to do this, I need a switched power in the front luggage compartment. Not sure it exists.
