LOL...sorry guys...the K40 is a scam...it only costs the dealer $150 for each unit. I called K40 today and they refused to answer any of my question's, that show's they have something to hide. I have tested numerous K40 Calibre's and they performed the worst that I have ever seen.

Here is a video of the black lambo with a K40 Calibre and this is the only owner that ever agreed to let us video tape the laser jammer testing of a K40 laser jammer. I have the LPP (laser park pro) and there are plenty of video's of the lpp on the web. Look how easy it was to pick off the lambo with the K40. The owner was very, very pissed and later bought a lpp.

Goodluck...Before you get your K40 installed ask the dealer to shot it a "Real Police Lidar Gun" (that is different then a range finder). Look for video's of the K40 being tested by independent testers or any testing of the K40...I will save you time...I have the only public testing of the K40 Calibre on video that I know of. K40 Corp. will not allow any testers from company's to video the K40 falling on its face. Goto Radardetector.net and try to talk about K40 and it wont even allow you to type the words "K40" because K40 sued Radar Roy because the K40 failed very, very badly so K40 didnt want that to get out or even talked about. Be glad that you have someone on this site that is a counter-measure specialist and conducts laser jammer testing on a regular basis. Just do some research before you waste your money...I know it means something to you...because you own a Porsche Carrera S. K40 will not refund your money back under any situation and its money and time wasted.

There are alot better radar detectors then the K40. If you notice...K40 markets it self in alot of stereo shops and car dealers for nice car's. When has the K40 radar detector or laser jammer been tested by a major tester or magazine? The last time I could find was back in 2005 by Motor Trend and the K40 got killed. K40 will not allow tester's to publish the results because K40 know's its products are junk. Your better off getting something that works. You ask if the K40 good for laser detection? I would say it is a very poor performer because the radar detection is very bad (not good) and its much harder to detect laser then radar. What are are you trying to do? If your going to use a radar/laser detector to protect you from laser attacks...I would not hold my breath. Well there is the V1 and it is the best at laser detection and even picks up laser scatter like no other radar/laser detector around. Basically K40 is worst the Cobra and I thought I would never say such a thing. You own a Porsche..dont sacrifice your protection on a product that is not allowed to be tested. K40 is a waste of time and money.

I found this on another forum, I am deeply upset by this, if true, IMO, it violates the freedom of speech constitutional right and can decrease the value of all forums:

Interestingly, K40 sued (or threatened to sue) the premier radar detector reviewing site (www.radarbusters.com) and forced it to take down a damning review. As a result of an agreement with K40, nobody is allowed even to mention the company name in the discussion forum at www.radardetector.net.

I, for one, will not be buying a product whose manufacturer files SLAPP suits against Internet forums who have something less than positive to say.

P Car 944,

What do you think of the Escort ZR-3 laser shifters. I know there are better laser jammers out there but my dealer has limited choices (K40 and SRX that comes with ZR-3) and I don't want to buy something on my own and have the dealer install something he is not familiar with. For some reason, the ZR-3 is not mentioned as often as Blinders, LideteK.

Well its better then the K40 laser jammer...by far but it still uses older software and has trouble with the newer laser gun's on the street. I just tested a ZR3 today against my Laser Atlanta and I had no trouble getting a speed reading. Just by pass the stealership and dont pay those high install prices. Take a look at the LPP if that is what your talking about "I know there are better laser jammers out there" in your post. Any good quality car stereo shop can install laser jammers and the LPP ( laser pro park) is very easy to install. What area are you in? Maybe I know someone in your area that has a LIDAR gun for testing since the install shops dont have police issue lidar guns like I do or my friend around the US.
