2008 Carrera S

The mass part is the car weight though... thats what the engine need to accelerate, and what the wheel and crankshaft is ultimately connected to.
3000lbs +- 100lbs for lightweight components isnt a lot ... or is it ?
I thought lightweight engine components allowed a higher redline... ?

Anyone heard about if the 2008 model will have the clutchless F1 style of transmission? As soon as Porsche comes out with something better than my Tiptronic that is when I get another new Carrera.

I also heard that the new transmission will make its debut in 2008, first in the turbo cab.

No kidding - I'm actually in Farmingdale. Toll just built a new development there. One of my offices is in Middletown, right on 35.

Yes, I lived in Holmdel for 10 years from 1965-1975 (I was 15 when we left to Fl); that part of NJ was quite beautiful with all the horse farms and apple orchards, what a great place to grow up. I remember Middletown quite well along with Colt's Neck, Redbank, Little Silver, etc. Is Farmingdale close to Allaire State Park?

For goofing around on the street Tiptronic is ok but for the track the Tip toggles on the steering wheel can get confusing and it is easy to hit them with your fingers. big paddle shifters would be much much better.

500 - yes, it right near Allaire. I agree about waiting a year or two to debug the system.

Yes, it's really nice. The back roads are still relatively quiet and I can't wait to get back into a p-car to start enjoying some early morning weekend drives.
