I will throw out 380hp for the Carrera S and 350 for the Carrera to keep it in check with current HP war that seems to be brewing and 400hp the minimum level of entry for 55-70k performance oriented cars.
I just cant see Porsche being fine with an E92 M3 that outperforms the Carrera S. Its going to take 380 hp to do that.
Im not 100% sure but historically the 'x' packages of the current model seem to be very close in HP to the following Carrera model (in todays case the Carrera S has similar power to last models 'X' pacakge).
2010 as 2011 model for major change sounds about right, complete with 3.8 liter flat 6 with 360hp and 400hp 4 liter perhaps. Or I can stop dreaming.

2010 CY/2011 MY for the 998
The facelifted 997's will get a 17 hp bump to 342 and 372 in the S, this makes sense as the facelifted base car will still have less hp than a pre- facelifted S and the current 997 X package cars will still have more hp that the facelifted non X cars even with the increase, this way Porsche gets to raise the power and still keep current 997 owners happy...BTW the torque will probably not change very much if any

Forget HP, think torque. The V8 will no doubt be much more generous vs. any 6 - flat or straight.

The E92 already uses a lot of aluminum, so there won't be any significant weight savings with exotic materials on the M3, and rumor is that it will have a mandatory sunroof like the 997. My guess is that it will be a porky 3,750lbs.

See here and notice mention of 4 years of production history:

LED tailights are coming with minor front and rear clip changes - think turbo look. No surprise really, they did it with the 996 and a refesh after 3 years is not abnormal for any car manufacturer (at least wheel changes, minor trim or lamp changes etc).
