Just Back from Birmingham
Just back last night from 2 day PDE. Just amazing. The first thing after
classroom I was out on the track following
Hurley Haywood. What a nice guy. He had us progresing with speed very quickly.
The other excercises were fun and helpfull but I was
not too good with heel toe need alot of work.
MJones no one seemed to know who you are (lol).
Hope to be able to get back to do another PDE maybe Masters
Lunch the 2nd day Hurley was out testing a Radical race car for Mr Barber.
The car has a V8 360hp and about 1200 lbs. Amazing looking car with a
large carbon fiber wing. here is a link about the car http://www.radicalextremesportscars....ge/sr8/sr8.php
The second day in the afternoon was out with Brian Cunningham
he was an excellent instructor.
Thanks for everyones advise about attending PDE

Great to hear that you had a great time!
It's really hard to explain how good the PDE program is...it's an ultimate test drive, the best instructors and a very demanding track.
People reading this who have not attended should make the time and do so...you will not be dissapointed! What reasons do you have for not doing so??
Curt - do consider doing the Masters...it just gets better!
I'll be back in Birmingham for another round....next month!

Nice work Curt P. It is a great class. Once you get the heel toe down at home, then go back for the Masters. The 997 is a brilliantly easy car to heel toe. Driving shoes dont' hurt. Somebody here turned me on the Piloti shoes and I highly recommend the now. They look and feel like normal shoes.
It is pretty cool hanging 'round Hurley Haywood there, too.
Speaking of... who won the Porsche instructor's race a couple of weekends ago?

Curt: Glad to hear you had fun. I went last year and can't wait to get back for the Master's. BTW did you get to do hot-laps on the Carrera GT at the end of day 2?
Best!

Curt P, I too had a great experience at the 2 day PDE last month. I'm contemplating taking The Master's later this year. Perhaps several of us on the list can attend the same session.....

Bob I stayed at the Ross Bridge Hotel which is were they have
the dinner after the first day. The hotel is nice, beautiful golf
course although I did not play. Nice spa but if you are not
staying an extra day you probably won't have much
time to do anything except the PDE course

For people attending the PDE. I live In Birmingham but have not attended the PDE. Waiting for my Brother from CA to pick a date so we can do it together.
Anyways on Restaurants - Highly recommend Bottegas, Oceans, or Highland Bar Grill. They are all excellent the 1st and 3rd are both owned by Frank Stitt who has written one or two books. One or both of these have been ranked top 10 in the nation. Great food.
Enjoy your visit to Birmingham.

Three Wheelin'
I think I will finally get there Nov 9 & 10TH. The Wynfrey used to be the hotel on the Porsche website and have a shuttle to the track, no hotels listed there now. Anyone know if there is a hotel with the shuttle to the track? Planning on flying in and didn't want a car if I don't need one.
TIA.
