After Break-In Did You Do Anything Eventful?
I finally reached 2000 miles this morning and heard the stock exhaust just above 5000 for the first time. I wish it sounded that way all the time.

Grab your favorite CD and plan to take a 1-2 hour drive on your favorite section of road...mornings and evenings are best...The first part of your drive...only listen to your 911..no music with the windows down...
On the way back, load the CD, still leave the windows down, and ENJOY...I only have 1300 miles @5 weeks...Have a great time...you probation is finally over!

Isn't that motor amazing? Wait until you hit 3k... 5k...10k. It keeps getting better, from what I understand. I hit 3K today - the PSE exhaust note changed fairly dramatically around 2.7k. Much, much better!
Good luck, 06!

I just have a regular ol' 997 C4 Cab and a Tip at that. I'm laughing at my choice of "just" and "regular". From around 2,700 miles on, like dstrimbu said, the exhaust note got much deeper and beefier and continues to do so at current figure of around 3,500. The engine also seems, how to say this, happier, looser, free-er revving. I thought it was a work of art at 14 miles but like a fine wine or a beautiful woman, it's aging wonderfully.

I routinely shift at 7,200 in first and second - whenever I get a clear shot at it. When I get into third, I'll lift and coast down a bit. The car will do over 72 mph in second, amazing.
Also, in the C4S with Sport mode ON and PSM on, you can get a fair amount of tail-out (yaw) at about 4-5k RPMs in first, before the rears slip enough to send power to the front axle. ..
I don't think I've ever seen a car that gets to 70mph as effortlessly as the 997S. I know that a lot of cars are faster; but the 997 is just soooooooo smooth...
Have fun!
