opinion on best aerokit?
 

With all the factory porsche and aftermarket and now the 997tt bumper options for our NA 997s, what is everyones consensus on the best aerokit?
I always liked the RUF but thought it may be too low and being one piece, make it hard to avoid constant repairs or replacement...
My second choice would be the gt3 supercup since it looks alittle more aggressive than the regular gt3 especially with the extra black slats where the bumper meets the hood. plus its factory...
Does anyone know if porsche ever sold the supercup bumper for 996 gt3 mk2 or were those available only for raceteams?
Also, I was talking to an aftermarket supplier (since he is not a board sponsor I wont mention which one) and he said if there was enough interest he could duplicate the gt3 supercup in polyurethane. However, instead of the more aggressive front lip it would be the regular gt3 to give better clearance. Do polyurethane copies of the original fit well or is it just like any aftermarket?
BTW he gave a rough estimate of $1500 if 8 people would commit.
Is everyone else waiting for more options, or is the 997 stock look just more appealing than the 996 which everyone was modding more readily.

I do not know the answer to that one, but I have seen one that Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota put on a 997 and it looks "factory". You might call them.

I'm interested in a low key, tasteful aftermarket kit that doesn't extend as far down as the factory kit (which leaves the 997S just as ground clearance challenged as my GT3). Maybe rinspeed? My 997S is my daily driver so I can't get too crazy.

The rinnspeed bumper is cool but for some reason reminds me of the cayman. I also like the idea of having a lower lip, I just got an email from misha ( the guy who makes the 996 wings) saying that he has a new design planned. I think I will wait for that before I decide on a bodykit.
frayed, is your car lowered? I have techart springs on my S (least aggressive drop) and I still get alot of clearance with the stock bumper. Maybe you can just put the aerokit bumper and leave the lower lip off or maybe even paint part or all of the lower lip matte black so damage wont be noticeable.

I look the looks of the new Ruf rear wing, which evokes memories of the old duck tail from 1973, but I do not particularly care for any of the massive front air dam combinations produced by Porsche and just about every aftermarket manufacturer, at least for street use. I would prefer a subtle add-on for the front, such as the carbon fiber piece being manufactured by Cargraphics. (see the cover car on Nov. 2005 Excellence magazine) The carbon fiber would balance nicely with carbon fiber on the Ruf rear wing, IMHO.
