How do you like GT Silver Metallic? I would love to see some photographs of a coupe in this color. Thanks!

I thought I liked it too. But I saw one the other day at the dealer and it looked way too much like AC to justify the 3 K price tag IMO.

Here are some pics of a GT Silver - I've collected these from the different online forums while I was trying to make a color selection. I just bought one today, when it arrives tomorrow I will be sure to post some better pics.

Its hard to capture the true color on the internet though. Its much much more stunning in person in particular during the day time.

Thanks for the pics. I like it better than my 996's Arctic Silver. It's warmer. Bet it would be nice here in FLorida.

Default I have a GT Silver 997S

Just got it last week. I did not order the car. It had just arrived at the dealership and I went for it. Anyone out there know why the extra cost for this and a few other metallic's that Porsche offers?

Do a search for "Mr Bonus", another rennlister in this 997 forum who posted a lot of pictures of his 997 in GT Silver.

I have a 996 with GT Silver, and agree that pictures don't do justice compared to seeing it in person. It is a stunning color. Here's one of my posts from the 996 forum with pics https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...8&page=1&pp=15.

And here's a picture from last weekend. The silver cars on the edges are GT Silver (mine is the one on the left). The second from the right is artic silver. The third from the right is polar silver.

Cheers.

Here is a picture showing three different shades of silver side-by-side, although the resolution is poor. From right to left: GT Silver, Platinum Silver, Arctic Silver.

GT Silver is easily the most complex, emotive, alluring metallic color Porsche makes, imho. I would pay double the asking, if I was ordering a car. I love the Carrara White of my new-to-me GTS, but it's the GT Silver of my 997.2 C2S that really lights my fire. My dream car would be a GTS in GT Silver, as seen above.

Anyway, I've tried to include photos of it in various lighting conditions, here. To me, it's not so much a darker silver, as it is a very highly metallic light gray. It definitely changes with the light, and looks best at dusk or dawn.

To me, THIS is GT Silver. This photo captures what it looks like at its best, IMO:

(BTW, this particular car is (sadly) up for sale (with the OEM Sport Design wheels; the BBS are for sale separately). As I mentioned, it's been replaced by my new GTS. If anyone is interested, please PM me here.)

Lastly, you can search for GT Silver 997 cars on autogespot. I believe you can filter by model and color there. Lots of nice photos. ;-)
