Who has PCNA presidents name?

I know I saw it here, I live in Atlanta, GA and may just visit him to talk about Sirius Satilite or write a letter. I have been to their offices before, pretty cool, the keep a car on display out front like a piece of art, which of course it is. Now that I think about it, I will definately go by and see what they are displaying.

Here is a copy of the letter I just mailed:

June 27, 2005

Mr. Peter Schwarzenbauer
980 Hammond Drive
Suite 1000
Atlanta, GA 30328

Dear Mr. Schwarzenbauer:

I am writing this letter to express my disappointment that PCNA does not offer Satellite radio as an option on the 2006 997S Porsche. On June 18, 2006 I placed my order for a 2006 997S Porsche through Hennessey Porsche. While placing my order, I was informed by my sales person that Satellite radio is not an available option on the 997. I am shocked and disappointed that there is not an integrated Satellite radio option available in such a high-end automobile. Furthermore, I was told that Satellite Radio is an available option on the Porsche Cayenne equipped with PCM. Could it be that this module will work in the 997 and is it possibly an over-site that it was not shown on the 997 options list for 2006? I do not understand why Porsche would offer Satellite on some of your cars but not on others, especially your top-of-the-line cars?

Additionally, I am even more dismayed that many lesser quality auto makers i.e. General Motors, Ford offer this option on their cars.

Please let me know if I can provide further information regarding my order. It would be absolutely wonderful if this were all just some big mistake. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Mark Erbesfield
President

You don't need a Porsche. Looks like you already have a time machine.

:roflmao:

My two cents:

PCNA could not care less about this matter. They have provided flawed Becker head units and other inferior audio systems in $100,000+ autos for years, and we keep buying them.

Let the aftermarket boys handle your satellite needs. It can be done. Someday Porsche will dump the Becker crappy head unit that is so flawed and get something with some decent quality.

Best of luck getting anything more than a courtesy "thank you for your interest" letter.

Lets stay focused on more important quality issues rather than radios.

I agree; the uproar over satellite radio is not going to get any airtime with PCNA; even less time with the Germans. The audio systems in these cars are like cupholders; they are unfortunate distractions that we Americans place value in. Porsche and Ferrari have been putting overpriced POS Becker head units in their cars for years... so what? At least the Bose system sounds better than the "Premium Audio" feature in my 99 Boxster! The only good audio system in a car is the partnership that Lamborghini had (has?) with Alpine. That's been great for both of them. Otherwise, it's Becker or PCMS for us!

Bullsh%%$t, it is the details that matter. If I am spending $2,400.00 for a PSE because I like the way it sounds and I am opting for the Bose stereo system, Porsche sure as heck can get a simple thing like Satellite radio in my car to enhance the listening experience. Especially when other lower end auto makers are already doing it. If you don't attempt to change things they probable never will. I will personally visit their offices if I have to as I live in the same city and drive by their offices almost daily. Oh yea, opps on the date, but hey, you get the point. And yes, that is a "little detail" that I should have caught, my bad.

I have a Cayenne S for over a year and have not had any issue. Best truc ever. Its a keeper.

merbesfield 07-22-2005 08:55 AM

I did get a response for PCNA. The issue is they don't have an antenna solution for the Cab. so they won't put Sat out for the coupe. What a bunch of BS.

Fred 993C4S 07-22-2005 10:04 AM

Somebody could try to order the cayenne unit thru tequipment and get a tech to install it. The PCM unit is probably the same, it would just be a matter of finding a place to put the antenna.
