Default So we're clear: no 2006 deliveries until Late-September

Is this taken to be a fact nowadays? If so, not wanting to "enjoy" winter driving, I might cancel my July-build order for a 997S and re-order for delivery in April or May 2006.

Don't do it. Just sit tight, unless you live in Alaska, you'll have a few months of driving still even with a Aug/Sep Delivery. Infact, fall weather is awesome driving time. Hang in there!

No, May is last production month of '05s. June begins '06 production and completed cars won't be delivered until the official Porsche '06 rollout, meaning cars won't arrive until late Sept/early Oct.

OCBen...OCBen...OCBen...

Thank you. I just ENDED this same thread on Reanteam on this very controversial topic!! Now, I agree with you, but there are detractors! See:

Look at Page 2.

DO NOT cancel your July Build. I have a July build. We wait together. Brothers in Arms. Commraderies. Stay the pace. Steady.... Steady....

Hey Adam, how's it going bud?

Well, they're just speculating that's all. All they need to do is ask anyone who has a June build date what model year it is they will be getting. We did that here in this forum and at least one individual confirmed that his June build will be for an '06. Do you remember that? If not you can do a search to retrieve the thread. I also had my sales gal corroborate that with the sales log at the dealership. And these guys can do the very same thing just by stopping at their local dealership instead of just speculating and causing unnecessary grief for you long term waiters.

My dealer is still sticking by the june build july delivery for 2006
i have a copy of the order that shows a 2006 model build
I can't imagine porsche sitting on cars for 2-3 months without getting paid.

I have a 997 C2S on order - build completion on June 13. IT IS A 2005 model (I have the spec sheet from P). I purposely didn't want to wait for a July build (which the sheet stated was a 2006 model) due to the inflation in price and the unknown delivery date (ie: August thru October have been quoted!). Plus, I couldn't wait~
I'm in california - but I doubt that Porsche would make both 2006 and 2005 models in the same month.

hummm, maybe they're just bluffing, ya know? Perhaps "any car ordered before April 2005, and built in July WILL be delivered ASAP after completion..."

IOW, they let a few 2006 cars leak out (to keep getting paid, like you say) and for the most part still appear to be holding off for the big (?) 2006 splash?
