Default Plugs on Rear Bumper of 997 S

The other day on the highway Rt 83 in Maryland another 997 S pulled up in front of my Seal Gray 997 S, it was Silver, and it had these unattractive plugs, about 1" in diam. all along the rear bumper. Would this be the parking assistance option?

In any case it looks a lot worse than the bumber without that. Am glad I never ordered that option if that is they way it looks. Why get it, these cars aren't that big anyway?

That would be the parking assistance option - 4 or 5 ugly plugs on the rear bumper (and front???).

So that's what that was, shoot, I think I'll just allow for enough space and risk it rather than have that crap on my bumpers.

I actually think they're good in theory - eg if you let your other half drive and park it.

But I didn't go for that option purely cause they're ugly.

I guess they would be good if you did ALOT of parallel parking.

I'd order the option if the sensors were hidden. Heck, just touching that bumper to something gives you an ugly costly scratch/dent.

The sensors are never hidden, all the cars by different mfgrs have them.

They are only good if a giant siren went off and a camera took a picture when another bumper got within inches of you because it most likely WON'T be YOU that is hitting someone (you try and squeeze your 997 into tight spots?) it will be an 87 Honda with a farty exaust ramming you after you park!
