My First Porsche! (on order)
So, many of you know me as the guy who can't decide between the Cayenne Turbo and the 997 C4S - well, the decision has been made and (the envelope please),...it is going to be the C4S !!!!!!!!
I went to Ira Porsche today and met with fellow Rennlister Alfie who shook my hand and took my deposit. I have never been so psyched about a car (that is, one I can actually get). We're hoping for a Nov-Dec delivery - just in time to test the AWD in New England.
In my recent unscientific poll, here's how Rennlisters voted when asked 'You've got one garage space...do you get a C4S or CTT?'
997 Forum: 88% C4S, 12% CTT
Cayenne Forum: 50% C4S, 50% CTT
Not that I like following (goes with the whole car thing), but the people spoke and I listened. Besides, I've wanted a 911 since I knew what Porsches were.
Thanks to all for your input over the months.
AND THANKS ALFIE
PS As others had told me, Alfie's a really nice guy and very knowledgeable about p-cars. Besides, he's giving me the 997 C4S for $30,000 off MSRP. Just kidding!
PPS Please be patient with me while I go insane over the next half year waiting for a car that's nowhere near being built yet.

If it's any help...my dealership (Brumos in Jacksonville) took my order and deposit for Carrera S Cab on 1/10 and I received the car today (130 days). Brumos used one of their "allocated" cars from Porsche for my order but I don't know whether that made any difference in the time it took. That should give you some gauge of how long it takes without any delays either at my dealership, in production or through its transport from Germany through Brunswick, GA. Congrats and happy waiting.

You need to go for president, you listen to the people!!!
Congratulations man. You will not regret your decision. Think about that picture of sliding and drifting through the snow with a 4wheeldrive 911. I bet you couldn't belief that a year ago.

David - Congrats on getting your car - hope you have good cab weather this weekend.
PV - Run for president? You couldn't pay me enough,...seriously!
Have a great weekend.
Maybe I'll go get a remote control 911 to play with for the next 6 months.

Cobalt should be, as long as they offer it on 2006, which they havent confirmed yet. Cobalt is mighty bright, I thought you were leaning more towards Midnight blue.
