Very interesting thread...a lot of people seem to agree that power gains are usually very optimistic and may bring a side effect with it...but has anybody bother to check the weight savings claims?...those should be easier to verify and, at the end, they improve the power to weight ratio as much as power gains

Same is true for motorcycles a lot of rediculous claims. I think Porches R&D budget is substantially higher than these after market companies. There is always the option of getting the X51. Porsche claims 26 hp addition with heads, cams, intake, exhaust and ecu. That should give you an idea of whether these hp claims by after market could possibly be true with exhaust and ecu etc.

in your quest for the perfect exhaust sound check out this link with videos for 996 gt3 with kreissieg exhaust. i love the sound but it is insanely expensive 9-15k !!!

Great point! Look what all is done to an engine with the X51 option, and then compare that to what 3rd party folks are claiming is being done with their bolt-ons...
