Speedart in Germany makes an exhaust for th e 997, has anyone heard of them before? Stuff looks good, but I often wonder if it's not someoone elses stuff slapped with a different label.

just got my 997 , do you think performance exhaust would help upping the HP on a standard 997. when i put ghl headers and exhaust on my 930 it was huge improvement . something i would recomend to any older 911 owner.

930man, I installed a cold air kit/BMC air filter, new headers and maxflo mufflers on my 997 about two weeks ago. There is definitely a noticeable improvement in power and sound...Was it a huge difference? No, is the sound and power better then factory? Yes.
Frankly, I was expecting a little more volume and power. A happy medium between factory and Cup Car...I'm finding out it's not that simple. I have done some extensive legwork and there are three options if you do the headers/mufflers and want more. The first and least expensive option is live with it…The problem with this option is by now you have spent a couple of thousand dollars (if you DIY, more if Hans does the work) and you find yourself thinking, well I’ve come this far…
The second and most cost effective is Cat bypass pipes. This option while giving the best performance and sound results has a side effect of setting off the check engine light because it is not OBD2/emissions compliant.
The third and most expensive (2k) option is "sport" catalytic converter pipes. This option will add a little more volume and power (claiming 8-10hp we’ll see) and is OBD2 compliant (200 cell cat) I went back and forth on this and in the end I ordered the 200 cell (the 100 cell requires programming or it will set off the CEL) "sport" catalytic converters. I just didn't feel like dealing with some of the issues associated with bypassing the cats all together and still wasn’t happy with that tinny rice burner sound I could still hear coming out of my factory cats. So unless there is someone that has already done this to a 997…well either way I’ll offer you my opinion/feedback after I get my sport cats on the car (10 days)…I can record a WAV file and e-mail it to you offline if you’re interested.
