there are no cons, its one of the best options to be had on the 997. they are sublime.

best advice is to goto a dealership and sit in one with and one without

you'll know right away.

Moogle,
Do you know what type of seat rails the 997 uses? Up until the 996 all Porsches had a flat seat rail and the 996 and 986 had a different kind. I am curious if the 997 has the 996 seat rail or if 997 adaptive sport seats can be retrofitted into pre-996 p-cars. Thanks,

im told the 997 sport seats are on the same rails as 996/986.
I have not seen any 997 sport seats sold or removed from cars. I called 1 dealer and they could only get the seat as 80 parts, but not assembled .. it was not price effective.

Anyone see 997 sportseats sold separately?

They're great and you can adjust them in any number of ways. If you don't really care about all of the adjustments or lumbar support etc., then I would simply go with the standard sport seats.

Rob,
I havent seen them sold anywhere or any pictures of them yet, but I figure it is only a matter of time until someone is parting out a wrecked 997 or putting in GT3 seats in their 997. I am nearly certain some will start popping up on ebay.

I agree. The best thing you can do is sit in both. I just happen to fit perfectly in my Sport Seats and love them. Not everyone will, and for them the adjustable seats are most likely a better idea..
