Question Questions on Options 0n 997S

I am ordering a 997S and have one week left to make changes. I am undecided on the following:
460 Leather Sport Str Wheel (anyone have a picture of this, or maybe can explain the differences on these various steering wheel options
982 Supple Leather- Do they wear okay? ( I ordered Full leather too)
405 19" Carrera Classic Wheel (I like these better on the Black exterior 997S)
Adaptive Sport Seats Vs the Standard power seats I look forward to any and all comments. Thanks- The Felcher

Wow! I didn't know we could use word like 'fanny' on forums [at least not in England].
Option 460: The look of it is very nice and feels sportier than the standard.
Option 982: I don't know where you live; it depends on this factor also, as this kind of leather wears more on less depending of sunrays, heat...I wouldn't order it if I was you.
Option 405: Yes, in my opinion they look better than the standard 19" wheel on black exterior. It is also said that they are easier to wash than the standard wheels [but I don't know for that part].
Adaptative sport seats vs standard power seats: Adaptative I would say...you should make a search on this topic; there's a discussion relative to the seats somewhere..among other things, they discuss about the height of the driver relatively to the comfort he gets with adaptative sport seats...

Welcome to rennlist and congratulations on ordering a great car!

I have had supple leather in the past and I wouldn't order it again - I think the regular looks and wears better.

I highly recommend the adaptive sport seats - they include the power seat memory package, which is something like $1,500 on its own, so if you are getting full leather (and assuming you would get the power seat memory option), the adaptive seats are only about $1,100 extra. I think they give you much better support, and the side bolsters are adjustable to snug up to you as you like.

Get the sport chrono plus package - not for the timer on the dash, but for the other functions its worth it.

I ordered 3 options, Floor mats. full leather seats and the supple leather because it is better quality and should last longer and look better. I wish I had ordered the sport seats, manual and the Crono But I placed my order before the options were defined. Good luck and have fun waiting!

Definitely get the Sport Chrono for the increased throttle reponse and higher threshold on the traction and ABS systems. Ah, you get used to the clock.

So are the plain P78 sport seats. No point in spending $3k+ for the P01 adaptive sport seats.

I agree w/ viken, the adaptive is a novelty and a waste of money. I drove one with them and thought they were nice but not worth 3k more...

Just my opinion.

If you get full leather and if you are going to get the power seat memory option, the adaptive sport seats are only $1,100 more. ($1,500 if you don't get full leather.) If you don't want the power seat memory option, then they are $2,600-3,000 extra.

In the US the Fanny is on the other side, or your Bum. Hood / roof, flashlight / torch, etc.

If you are any bit overweight or have broad shoulders, The adaptive seats still pinched my shoulders just like the old sport seats did in the 996. I would consider getting only the stadard power seat. You really need to sit in the sport seats or adaptive seat to know. Also if you are not tracking the car at all, its kind of silly to get the sport seats as well.

As far as full leather goes, many people rave over it in the 997. In particular people comment on smell of the full leather and how nice it looks on the dashboard. There is no difference between how the car smells. I have the standard leatherversion in my 997. I test drove the full leather. No differnce in smell when they come from the factory. I noticed by comparison shopping at many different dealers that some cars have a rich leather smell. This is a spray that some dealers are using. The non full leather car also has leather on the door bins. You are only getting leather basically on the front half of the dash and top of doors for an extra 3 grand.. This leather will crack, shrink and fade. It also more difficult to clean. If you are going to get full leather because you love cow hide in a car (something i can appreciate) I would suggest you get it on the center console as well because the plastic in the 997 looks cheapest there. You might as well complete the look in that case. Skip the supple leather because it will wear unevenly and is not really any softer to sit on. Its only to look at. Get heated seats instead if you plan to dirve you car in the cold. Finally, if you are a music guy, the Bose system is really nice in the 997 compared to any other Porssche radio I have heard or in comparison to many other car radios for that matter.
