Anyone using Mobil 1 FS 5/50 instead of 0/40
It struck me with most cars >50k miles using a slightly thicker oil might be better for a bit more protection when warm and driven hard ?

I'm running Driven DT40 5w40 at 63000. Ran it for a few years. Zero issues. I buy it from LN.
Driven has high Zinc. I like Zinc. Good for the metal.

OP,
Last time I checked, Mobil 1 FSx2 5w-50 was A40.
I ran it in my 997.2 and 958.1 until I moved over DI-0W-40 to address my concern with direct injection LSPI (low speed pre-ignition).
The conclusion I came to was that it was "barely" 5W-50 and it would sheer within a few 1000 miles into ?W-40. Which is fine. Then along came LSPI.
I run 5W-50 in my '00 G500 and would if any of my other cars were not direct injection. Personal choice.

If you have a 997.1, Driven DT40 5w40 or Driven FR50 5w50
If you have a 997.2 Driven DI40 0w40 (which is being relabelled as a 5w40)
Those are really the only 3 oils that should go in a 997 based on all the UOA reports that have gathered. Mobil 1 of any variety is a poor choice based on viscosity preservation and metal wear #s.
Liqui-Moly Molygen is OK, but requires separate Moly additives to perform similarly to the Driven lubricants. Motul is another decent choice.
