Hello everyone,

Greg Brown at Precision Motorwerks is the absolute guru when it comes to 928 transmissions, but I've never seen where he has worked on anything else, but might be worth a call to at least ask. Mary would be the one that answers the phone.

Tony Callas at Callas Rennsport may be able to help or refer you to someone also.

Thank you, I really appreciate your reply.

I am stunned that nobody knows a Porsche transmission shop in L.A., I have looked on my own and even asked some Porsche shops and they don't know neither.

Have you tried chatting with regular Porsche shops? House automotive or BBI? Maybe vision?

I actually talked to several of them. I am just surprise that some shops are more expensive than the Porsche dealers to diagnose issues.

Call them yesterday, they don't do transmissions and referred me to California Transmissions (in Arizona).

Just a silly sidenote but managed to connect with the original and previous owner of my C2 997.1 and he told me he never downshifted, just put the car in neutral and hit the brakes. I asked him why and he said, 'it's cheaper to replace brakes than a clutch'. Anyway, I'm used to downshifting but figured for the first 60k my 911 wasn't downshifted, why change things now? But yeah, I have no doubt the manual transmissions on these are bulletproof. I believe they're made by Aisin?

They're definitely not bullet proof
