Default Feedback on potential 997.2 purchase

Hi folks

Looking to make a call on this 2009 3.6 pdk from overseas. The inspection showed some scrape marks on the exhaust headers. I only received one picture of the area and can’t really make out much. Wondering if someone else might be able to comment on whether or not this would be an issue (Note the leak on ground is water).

Thanks very much.

If the headers have been scratched so must be the oil pan. It looks like they replaced the oil pan but that begs the question, what actually happened and how much damaged occurred.

Not necessarily.

I bought mine with some lightly scratched headers and no oil pan damage (discovered during a PPI and my own pre inspection, as well as previous owner disclosure).

It just means they backed up too far over a curb or something. Very likely a non-issue in this case.

Thanks, this is reassuring.

The headers pictured here are not lightly scratched though.

I’d have to see higher resolution pics myself, perhaps you’re right. These (OEM 997.2 S) headers have some weird dimpling that can be misleading.

Did PPI disclose or comment regarding those nasty header scrapes or damage??
Trying to determine anything from that photo is not really practical

The only thing that concerns me is the white residue areond the scratched area on the right side header. This may be dried condensation that's escaping from the damaged area and then bring blown rearward by the forward travel of the car. That side might actually have a hole in it.

Wouldn't prevent me from buying the car, but I'd negotiate for money off to be able to upgrade the exhaust

Very keen observation, thanks for your input.

Ive only had a basic (visual) inspection done, and it did mention dents and scraps on the manifolds.
