Figured I'd add to this thread. I've had my Sport Classic/Fuch copies for maybe 10 years. I've always loved the old Fuchs RSR finish, but was reluctant to pull the trigger on trying to refinish the wheels. I finally decided to give it a go and am happy with how they turned out.

I Couldn't successfully mimick the anodized frosted look of the original RSR Fuchs, so I
drew some inspiration from this Singer example.

The wheels look outstanding.

But the ride height looks like you off-road in it...

Obviously completely subjective but I think the OEM Sport Classics are, by far, the best looking “Fuchs” style wheel one can put on a 997. Some of the others, as seen in this thread, are almost too faithful to the air cooled Fuchs that they look out of place on a 997, imo. Perhaps I just associate them too much with air cooled cars but I think Porsche nailed the design of the Sport Classic wheel. Just modernized and tweaked the design enough to match the overall design aesthetic of the 997 itself; a “modernized classic.”

I think something can be said for the Fikse division - Zuffenhaus.

They produced the 17" wheels that are on my '88 3.2 Coupe. Forged, 3-piece. Very light weight. Fantastic quality. Also available in 18".

Default Sport Classics

All of these Fuch's homages work visually with the 997. I bought these OEM Fuchs in perfect conditon from an RL member. Replaced the original Turbo IIs. The only downside is they are cast and not forged but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

One last photo after shooting the wheels with 2K clear and letting the suspension settle a bit
