Burning Brakes
It'll look absolutely fantastic in Oslo Blue, and the aerokit front bumper and carbon roof will provide the icing on a very special cake !!
May I ask where you purchased the CF roof panel from ?
As regards the GT2 Carbon fibre bucket seats, I fall into the "detractor" camp as Sandwedge so elegantly puts it
So for some balance ...
Firstly they're not light, for sure they're lightER than the stock "armchairs", but at 39lbs each !! they're hardly the "lightweight" seats their supporters refer to them as ...
As regards the comfort of the GT2 CFB's, I had them in a Gen 1 997 GT3 and a 987 Cayman R, and can say hand on heart, they are THE most uncomfortable seats/instruments of torture I've ever had the misfortune to sit in.
They're mounted waaaay too high for my 6ft/170lb frame, and caused agonising pain in my legs the likes of which I've not experienced in ANY other seat in over 40 years of driving.
What Sandwedge has overlooked is the fact that everyone's "leg length to torso length ratio" © Atgani isn't the same. It would be wonderful/easier for seat manufacturers if they were ...
I have stumpy/short legs, but a long torso (AKA a freak) something the majority of automobile seat manufacturers don't seem to cater for particularly well.
My requirements for a comfortable seating position are :
The seat to be mounted as low as possible (First strike 997 G2 CFB's ...)
The seat base to be raked up at the front at the correct angle (second strike 997 GT2 CFB's...)
The angle of the backrest to be correct (or at the very least adjustable) to enable my spine and hips/thighs to be at the right/comfortable angle when sat in the seat (third strike 997 GT2 CFB's ...)
The GT2 CFB's fell short on all counts and to such a degree that two road tests I had in beautifully specc'ed 981 3.4 S Caymans fitted with them some years ago, had me in pain within 15 minutes on both occasions.
TBH I never had an issue getting in and out of them, the bolsters aren't that high, and they aren't mounted particularly low in the cars, but to be honest I didn't find them that supportive either.
Personally, I think they're an overly expensive triumph of style over substance on Porsche's part. Though I grant you they do look rather good in any 997.
Luckily, we're all different shapes and sizes, otherwise life would be very dull indeed
I look forward to the unveiling of the freshly painted bodyshell

The guys were not that happy about the factory ppf on the quarters, I’m glad I didn’t have to do that lol. Car is being blocked and straightend, amazing what you can’t see sometimes. First primer tomorrow, then blocked again until it’s perfect. Then the doors come off and the jambs get done.

Doors come off on Monday, body should get color Tuesday or Wednesday. I’m getting pretty excited.
There are a few parts I want to replace with new OEM stuff. Windshield of course but also all the aluminum side window trim parts, I also need a set of .1 turn signals since my front bumper is .1 version. Couldn’t find a .2.
The color looks good in real life, I’ve never seen an Oslo car in the wild only drooled over the color in pics. I’m still glad I decided on Oslo. There are so many great PTS colors, I’m glad I resisted the urge to do some non metallic gray. I love the grays but wanted to be different.
