Getting in and and out of them is different no doubt but becomes second nature and a non issue with a little bit of practice.

Same here. I've had the OEM GT2 carbon buckets on my last two 997's. Awesome seats and best I recall they're about half the weight of the typical non bucket 997 seats. IMO, they get an undeserved bad rap for being uncomfortable, being difficult to get in and out of etc. I disagree with all of that but then, I think it depends a lot on how you're built. I'm 6'3" and 180 lbs and they're perfect for me.

I agree with you guys. I’ll probably just keep the recaros for track days.
It looks like GT2 buckets are getting hard to find. My seat sensors and air bags are coded out so ROW seats would be great. What factory versions came as carbon fixed back? besides the old style 996 ones with the huge wings.

I agree. I personally love the real spots RS seats and always found them super comfortable with great support and looks. Plus it enhances the value of your car should you ever decide to sell. Reccaros cheapen it a bit. Great for intended purpose, but not for value and looks. There will always be those detractors, but for those looking for a high end rebuild the real RS seats will enhance value IMO.
I'll give the detractors this. If you're even a tad taller than 6'3" and weigh upwards or over 250 lbs., they're probably not for you. It's not a Buick slide in kind of seat. It's a tight and snug fit but again, the way they connect you with the car compared to the various standard 997 seats can't be overstated imo.

Hi guys, well a few pieces are finally done with prep, hood aero bumper and rear deck, they should be getting color any day. Body shop is finishing a couple things before they go full bore on my car.

Roof is finished and delivered, vacuum bagged prettiness. Should be spraying color on some parts this week. 🍻

Sounds like a fun project.
Did I miss the new color, or is it oslo blue.
what shop did you choose?
I've had very good luck with collisions plus performance in escondido.
They are a collision repair shop, but also do interesting P car projects.
Be well.
