This was asked in an earlier thread but never really answered what the 404 Relay controls…

Also found this on another site discussing DME relays in earlier Porsches…https://philipraby.co.uk/porsche-dme-relays-explained
And what of modern Porsches such as 996s, 997s Boxsters, Caymans and Cayennes? Well, Porsche realised that DME relays were potentially troublesome, and so these cars have much simpler relays controlling the power to the fuel pumps. These items contain none of the soldered joints typical of DME relays, and so are inherently more durable.

Yes, I am running into the same thing. My issue was a no start and I noticed my battery dropping to 11.7 and no steering wheel lock. Icarsoft showed no issues so I started looking for what was pulling all the power and ended up removing this relay and all power returned. I want to replace the relay but would like to investigate what the relay is going to before saying its just a bad relay. DME makes most sense but why is it so difficult to find out what it is for?
