That's it. I was in a big hurry to go check another car, so I couldn't take more pics. And because of the reflections, no interior pic is worth looking at.

My impression?... Put a 997 into a bunch of 996, and only a few people will notice it. I knew it was there, so I really looked for it. Otherwise, I'd probably have missed it too. But it looks a bit more muscular, yeah. It's also quite hard to notice the wheels are 19". This probably means that 18" ones would look undersized. What else?... The interior looks better in the flesh than on the pics, except for 2 things: steering-wheel and doors. I still don't like them. But the car was closed, so I've no idea how it feels and ... smells!

Well... Nothing new in this report, but the 997 sure is worth having a look at when it'll come to your dealer (July 17th)..

Ciao!

PS: thanks a lot to our friends in Leipzig for having let me take the pics! I do appreciate. And I'll come again...

Great shots.

Did you happen to notice if it had the sports package with the lower ride height?

No idea, but looking at picture #3, I'd say it hadn't it.

So, the ugly rims are real? Did they at least look better in person?

huh... Yeah, the rims are real. Very special design to say the least. I wouldn't say ugly (I've seen worse), but somehow out of place on the Porsche.

I see a reflection of the forked rim legs in the design of the side mirrors. Maybe this is an attempt to unify a design element? The exterior looks good to me. I am yet to be convinced about the interior, however. The interior has too many visual distractions IMO.

From your pics it does not look as curvy as from the Porsche published pics!( Number 5 pic) It looks more like the 996 and less than the 993. I'm I missing something???

Thanks Pierre. Nice to see the finished product. Maybe not as big of a leap as I first thought it might be. But it does somehow look more compact than a 996.

Looking forward to see it in real life as well.
