More I look at it - more I like it. Clever evolution.

Anybody know any technichal details, besides that the S has 355 hp and the regular Carrera has 325? Are the brakes different from the 996? Are the 325 hp engine the same as in the 996?

cheers

According to Autoweek, the brakes are bigger.

I like it, but that 996TT with the aero kit in the background looks better.

The "new" 997 lookes like a warmed over 996, unfortunately, not much to talk about. I hope this does not happen to Ferrari when it goes IPO next year. Sad really. The wheels are exceptionally bad as well, how about a focus group guys? At least the exceptionally poor ideas could be watered down some.

you can get the PCCB brakes on the S, but not on the regular carrera. the stock brakes on the S are 4 piston calipers front and rear. they're bigger than the regular carrera brakes, but they're not 6 piston front calipers like the 996 turbo and C4S have. so they must be a new design.

as for the engine, porsche hasn't mentioned anything about it being a new engine, and normally they would if it was all new. so i think it's just a regular 996 3.6L with a little more power.

Actually, the 6 piston calipers are on the GT2 and GT3. The 996TT and the C4s use 4 piston calipers... though larger than on the Carrera.
