Which way to rotate crankshaft by hand, 997?
Team,
I want to rotate the crankshaft on my 997.1S without getting in and bumping the engine with the starter. Just to confirm, IF I am standing at the back of the car looking forward, I rotate the nut on the end of the crank CLOCKWISE OR COUNTER CLOCKWISE?
I want to get Cyl #6 at Bottom Stroke to scope it (no indications at all- just a winter project)

Burning Brakes
Easiest way I've found to do this (assuming manual transmission) is put the car in top gear and jack one rear wheel in the air, leaving the other on the ground. If you turn the wheel in the air forward by hand it will rotate the engine forward.
Much easier than turning by the crankshaft, in my experience.
