Default Help - 997.2 manual trans rebuild needed - NorCal or Reno

Looking for any recommendations to a shop or independent mechanic to rebuild a 997.2 manual transmission. I just have a slightly warm 2nd gear synchro that is annoying. I’m currently in Reno but anywhere in Northern CA will work for me. Any advice appreciated.

They are located in AZ, despite their name, but have a lot of expertise and shipping options in place. Good luck.

2009 C2S 186K miles

What year and how many miles? Just to be clear, you are unhappy with 2nd gear.... what exactly are you symptoms? Did you try replacing the fluid with PTX as prescribed in your manual?

Peace

Default 2011 C2S 6 speed

It’s a 2011 C2S 6 speed. 107k miles. Clutch was replaced at 88k miles. 2nd gear synchro is warn and it will grind unless engine speed is perfectly matched and you are patient. Most shops don’t have the tools for 997 trans work and they say you can’t just replace the synchro like other transmissions. Quote I got in town was $11k to swap with a rebuilt trans.

Default GBox

GBox is actually my best option so far. The shipping could be expensive but I think remove, replace, ship, rebuild, ship back, (pray I don’t need a flywheel and clutch) for around $7k.

What is the cost for them to rebuild the box?
