Default HVAC Foam - Different Question

I know many of us have bemoaned the bits of insulation flying out of our vents and plenty of posts talk about rectifying the situation. All well and good, for those with either the money/time to pull their dash and replace, or don't mind performing major surgery in the frunk. My question is a slight twist:

Has anyone found a quick and easy way to clean the greasy smear that is left in the carpet when you inadvertently step on said bits of insulation? Sand beige carpet and gooey black insulation smears are not an appealing combination, and if I don't have to purchase a new set of mats, I'd prefer not to!

Thanks to anyone who might have a tried/true cleaning methodology!

There are some very good carpet cleaners out there. As a Landlord I have used many. At the moment I can't remember what I use--->**Just be careful the product doesn't effect/remove the color.
