Default Remove OBD port from 997

Has anyone removed the OBD port from the dash mount?

I’ve been wrestling with this thing in my 997 for a couple hours. Frustrated 🤬

JP, are you saying you cannot remove a scantool cable from the under dash OBD port or are you asking if anyone has relocated the OBD port?

I am trying to pull the actual port as highlighted and marked out from the dash to i can replace it with new pins. I've tried prssing the snap in tabs as best as possible. Next stop is breaking plastic 🙄

The connector can be removed from the under dash cover which is part #99755220102 in the picture below. It fits into the hole shown on the bottom right of the cover, to the right of the footwell lamp. You will have to first remove the under dash cover to be able to remove the OBD connector.

This site describes how the OBD port can be unclipped from the lower dash cover….
