Ceramic wheel coating 2022 - recommended brands?

Hi All,

Spring is around the corner and I want to get some new rim sets ceramic coated. Does anyone have any brand or product recommendations from personal experience?

I've had good success with CarPro DLUX. Easy to apply. Reasonable cost. Durable.

Works great on brake calipers also.

I used Gyeon Q2 ceramic rim sealant and it has held up and performed really well in keeping brake dust and the wheels looking like new. As far as wheels go this stuff is really good. Use it on your calipers also while you are at it ...Take your time do each wheel by section and put on 2 layers and your golden ...

The amount provided allowed me to redo all four rim faces and my calipers also 3yrs later ! good stuff ...

I used P&S Double Black Inspiration I got from a local detail school which was easy to apply and seems to be holding up well just with one coat. I also just ordered Nano Bond from Amazon which I haven't used yet but expect to be similar. Just get a good H9 SiO2 formula and you should be good to go. BTW - there is no such thing as H10, so if you see that someone is making stuff up. There are new versions that contain graphene (carbon nanotubes). I can't comment on whether those are any better.

Optimum Gloss Coat. You can buy the 20ml syringe on Amazon. Enough for 4 wheels and 4 calipers.

I've used the Gyeon Q2rim and what i had leftover from cquartz uk 3.0. They both made cleaning the rims much easier. I will say the gyeon was easier to apply but didn't last as long.

I did the Gyeon Q2 Rim like a few others mentioned. Did the application on new satin black wheels June 2020. Went on easy enough however I'm noticing water is beading less and a bit more effort to clean the wheels.

Probably time to detail and reapply.

I would suggest this product. Easy to apply and is designed to handle high heat up to 600C (1100F). Even with new rims I would get their cleaner bottle. I needed a 30ml and 15ml bottles to get complete coverage on my 19" Carrera II wheels both the face and the full barrel.

You will need to remove anything on the rims from the factory to get the best results.

GTechniq or CarPro. Can’t go wrong with either of those.

Would you guys recommend coating before or after tire mounting?

Definitely after. I did mine before and kept losing the weight balancer. Coating helps on making brake dust not stick to the wheels do the same wheel weight tape/glue.
