I actually liked the painted one in my interior since it was already so full of leather and my carbon backs are glossy (used to have painted black adaptive sport seats)

Incidentally, it's from this thread that what I'm the happiest about is the leather piece that connects the shifter trim and the shift boot.

Maybe what I'm really looking for is a carbon console... the search continues /shrug

Attachment 1338032

In any case - the console is up here

Would this work? if you add a few more black leather trims. Just trying to convince you to save the leather center console, as it is kind of hard to find.

UPDATE 2/2022: To anyone wanting to contact Lev of Heavy-Smash-Salvage-LP (eBay), he’s asked you to use WhatsApp if possible (free and great international text app). He said he can respond much quicker than eBay messaging or standard email (I’ll vouch for that!). His phone is +371 26 400 686.
Note: He also sells steering wheels, seats, etc

^ the above photo has too much black.

Have you seen what Classic9 tried doing? It's an abomination of clashing materials - a smattering of alcantara, a "tufted" shift boot, black seats with tan stitching - it's all just bad.

I went with full leather to finish off the already extensive deviate leather in my car....I did gear ****, boot, handbrake, centre console and lid and the small bit under the radio.

The match was absolutely spot on. The stitching as well. Completes my interior in my eyes. The seats were done by a local guy....

I used Classic 9 leather = and they were fantastic to deal with!
I am based in AU - and the shipping was reasonable as well - but more importantly - they stand by their product 100% (rare in this day and age if you ask me)

So if anyone's interested in a black leather console, I may consider taking this one out and swapping back to my original.
I’ve been looking for an OEM black to replace my cracked up carbon one I’ve fixed once only to have it delaminate and crack again, but mine’s pdk. Gotta sort out of of they would swap, but if so I’d be interested.

Thanks for the info.
I emailed him and never heard back. I’ll try WhattApp.

I installed a leather dash on my 07 GT3 and wrapped the lower panels in alcantara. Install went well and cost me 9 hours of labor but well worth it. No rattles and looks great. Also added leather radio surrounds from exclusive options and the part above the shifter from exclusive options Bumper plugs handled the center console.

My 09 turbo was wrapped in leather from the factory so no need to touch that car.

given I haven’t seen any for sale. All good of course as the main thing is how 997s drive on the twisties!
I have my console out right now due to installing the numeric setup. Not having the airbag light connected has triggered the airbag light on the dash. I plan to reset it with my durametric. Assuming that works I’ll be happy to help you out if you want to drive to Greenville SC sometime.

Has anyone seen this idea of a black leather console in a car that’s black/stone gray leather? I’d like to see how it looks.

that is odd. Not sure how you would possibly get that warning. You disconnected the battery first I assume. Something else may be at issue with your car then. And I heard the dealer has to reset the airbag warning but I could be wrong.

No other issues. I did NOT disconnect then battery. I knew I’d be driving it around without the console for while anyway…
