What is lowest fuel consumption for Carrera base model 345HP or S model 385HP?
if you are gentle with throttle,at open road up to 150km/h...

Don't see this question much in the sports car world, as it isn't typically relevant. Not why one has a sports car. Probably Google s your friend.

It's more in how it's driven.

I can drive away from the gas station and see the needle move downward, sometimes I feel like the car burns fuel even when turned off

On a road trip using cruise control, my base w PDK easily gets 27 to 29 mpg. Incredible. Now, in the city .. or throw in a little spirited driving. That's another story. Not horrible, but the mpg def takes a hit.

I never worry about mileage. Of my 8 vehicles my 997s are in the top 4 for efficient fuel consumption.
But I really measure them in SPG (smiles per gallon) as that's all that matters to me.
- 914 is the best (30 mpg)
- Bmw X5 next (28 mpg)
- Wife's 997 next (avg 26 mpg)
- my supercharged 997 (avg 23 mpg)
- 81 928 Euro next (avg 22 mpg)
- 09 Cayenne Turbo S (stage 2 tune avg 13-16 mpg depending on whether the skybox is on it or not)
- GMC pickup 14 mpg
- Supercharged 928 Spyder (12 mpg)

Well, I care, but not because of gas mileage. The 9A1 direct injected engine is prone to fuel dilution because the injectors are under high pressure from the HPFP. Fuel dilution breaks down the oil’s viscosity and can quickly lead to engine damage. It can cause bore scoring if the fuel washes down the cylinder walls. Because of the likelihood of occurrence and potential catastrophic damage, I monitor it two ways. First, I use a UOA at every oil change. Second, I constantly monitor my MPG in the MFD but not because of any concern over getting good gas mileage. I monitor it because a substantial change in MPG (not related to driving style) could indicate a leaking injector or other fuel system issue which would need further investigation.

You're right about the fuel dilution and DFI injectors though. My Cayenne is my only DFI engine and the only one that shows any fuel dilution content highert than TR (for Trace) in my UOA reports. Ives seen this in the 987s too and gave Blackstone a heads-up on the fact that a higher fuel content appears normal on the Porsche DFI motors and am waiting on their feedback from their investigation.

Maybe, but doubt you'd see it in mileage. It's more likely the spray pattern that would change and contribute to a scoring issue. I'd be surprised if you'd see a significant change in mileage, but could be wrong.

BTW, this is the same guy who started the M96/97 "bad engine" thread yesterday for folks who might not have realized it.
