Air bag and seat belt buckle connector for aftermarket seats
Hi All,
I'm currently installing a set of Recaro sportster CS into my 997.1
For those who had aftermarket seats installed.
What do you do about the seat belt buckle and air bag connector? (yellow connector)
After taken apart the yellow connector, I had removed the seat belt buckle from the original seat and installed onto recaro rails. But unsure if I should just leave the connector under the seat?
Tried to search and found a few post, but didn't really mention about the connector.
I'm aware that I need the dealer to disable the warning for airbag.
Any input would be apperciate
Thank you

Not the same but….
I swapped to seats that had no power/heat from a heated seat. I just took a rubber band and quart size freezer bag and wrapped the extra connector and wire and then stuffed it back into the hole in the carpet floor.
I doubt you want to remove that wire bundle / connector.

More than likely your dealership will charge you to disable those sensors. Some won't even don't because of liability.
You might be better off getting one of the cheaper scanner/coders and doing it yourself. They will do all sorts of things that will be useful including disabling these sensors. I have the NT520 and it works fine for this and all your typical maintenance stuff. I think there like $160. After one time using it, you get more than your money back.
Not for everyone, but worth looking into.

I actually have a Foxwell NT530. Bought it to disable the Pasm when I changed my suspension.
Didn't know it can disable these sensor as well, cos all my research, people only mention those high end scanner like Durametic pro etc.
Might plug it in and check it out.

This is for a NT520 but would assume this is the same on the 530.
Heater Disable:
Programing/Vech.Electrical Sys/Customer-Specific Settings
Left Seat Heater = Not Installed
Right Seat Heater = Not Installed
Seat Airbag Disable:
Programing / POSIP / Customer-Specific Settings
Driver Thorax Airbag=No
Passenger Thorax Airbag=No
AWS=No
Hope that helps.

Connected my Nt530 and successfully removed the code.
Get rid of the seat buckle as well.
Thank you so much for your help.

That's the rail I got and I had circle the area.
Recaro provides new bolt, washer as well.
For the seat belt buckle disable, it's in the same manu as bwlow, just scroll down and you should see it.

Thank you for the quick reply. I saw that rail/slider combo but was worried it would raise my seat too high. Did reusing the original buckle give you any issues with getting it through the side holes?

I finally got around to installing my race seat in the C4 on the drivers side only. I removed the seat memory seat and installed the new seat today. After the install i turned the car to program out the settings with my NT530. I followed the settings above disabling the thorax airbag on the drivers side, the aws,, the left seat heater, and the belt buckle. The airbag warning light was on the whole time and did not go out(little person being punched in the face by the airbag). Is there something else I need to disable too? I have the memory seats, is that something that would need to be disabled too? Should i have disabled the settings prior to removing the old seat and now i have to reset the airbag? how would i do that. Thanks in advance for your help.
