Absolutely gorgeous! Is there a term for every time you see a different 997 you change your mind and say “I want one like that!”

Thanks for the details on the parts!

For what it's worth, I drove my 997 for years through New England snow storms and zero degree temps. The ragtop was perfectly suitable. Yeah there's a bit more road noise but that is also the case in the 7 warm weather months. From a weather and temperature perspective, the ragtop is just fine. Keeps the elements out and keeps you warm. It is a good idea to clean it and treat it with protectant in the fall. I never considered chasing down a hard top.

I didn't mention it in earlier post, but one of the sometimes underrated benefits of the hard top is the aesthetic. Recall another Rennlister mentioning this on a different thread and hadn't thought of it until he mentioned it. The lines are sure different from those on the coupe and also very appealing. The Black wheel/Black hardtop combination is a nice aesthetic way to deal w/ not finding a top of the same exact color; and a good way to avoid $700 for a repaint! Very clever solution!

Curious if you had snow tires or just went year-round w/ AS (M+S) tires? I've been running M+S on my SUVs for the last 15 years (Jeep GC, VW Touareg, Cayenne) and found that as long as you switch them out every 2 winters, they work just fine. I do a lot of skiing and when I lived in the Bay Area we drove 200 miles to/from Lake Tahoe every weekend from Dec to mid-Apr. Yeah, there was always some useable tread left, but not enough to make it safely through a third winter. I started doing this when I initially lived in CO and continued to do this whilst in NorCal. My big impetus for going to winter tires on the 911 was more around being able to drive it like I drive in the summer when the temps are below 40F.

I live in Seattle with a cab 997. I've never been cold in it with the top up. But you should buy a hat a gloves so you can drive it with the top down all winter, when it's not raining.

Default Interior Color of Detachable Hardtop

I'm new to the 997 Forum and am in the process of purchasing a 2010 911, base Carrera, stick, cabriolet, black with sand beige interior. I desire to purchase a used detachable hard top, obviously with a preference for black. What I do not know is whether Porsche produced them with matching sand beige interior to the detachable hardtop. I'm guessing that (a) this combo will be hard to find, if it exists, and (b) converting the interior to matching sand beige will be pricey. Appreciate any guidance / comments.

CarGuyToo, I have a black hardtop for sale in the classifieds here as well as in the PCA on line classifieds. The headliner is black as well but an auto trim shop could change it to any color you wish.
