How it looks... few kms done yet. Next month I will go for a new rear set. Lucky this time. Got a DOT 4720. Not so much...

I know these PS4S tires are supposed to be the bomb and I will prob try these next time around, but for some reason, to me, the side profile of the Michelins don’t look too good. It’s too rounded and the tires don’t look aggressive. In contrast, look at my Bridgestone tires that look much less round on the sidewall, as there’s ridges. I like the look a lot more but guess the Michelins are better tires.

I know it’s stupid. Lol. Just that those tires do look ugly to me. I have Michelin’s on my Audi, and they look ugly too, but I don’t care much bout that cause it’s my daily. The Pirellis that came with the car looked better too. I care too much about looks. 😆

I really dig the look of PS4S with that velvety logo and chunky smooth sidewall.
I think once you tried them youll learn to really like those tyres. I had Bridgestones a while ago and never was satisfied. All my cars are Michelin shod when I can help it. At higher cost, they wear longer, great in rain. To me they also look sick. each to their own.

I always kinda thought the same as well re the profile/looks. I put on the MP4S, after fairly new Bridgestone All Seasons last March because I got a great wheel tire package and now I don't want to switch them back in the winter because the MP4S just feel/ride so nice.

Actually, my Bridgestone N1s cost more than the PS4S. Fronts are $308 and rears $395 vs Michelin fronts $257 and rear $335 but yeah, I’ll prob try them next time, although I’m not unsatisfied with the Bridgestones. They seem to handle and ride fine to me.

Another Michelin PS4S fan here.

I think the only people here that have had poor experiences with the PS4S were tracking them. In which case, it sounds like there are better options. I don't track my car, but for just about anything I can throw at my PS4S tires (aggressive canyon runs, rain, etc.) they've been able to handle everything exceptionally well. For most applications outside of dedicated track use or snow, freezing, and extreme cold temps, this is about the best summer tire I can think of.

Looking on tire rack for a new set of shoes and two versions of the PS4S come up. For one set the front is marked "DT1 different" tread and the matching rears "TPC spec". The other set doesn't have this extra designation. Which one do I want?

Very good question.
I believe the tire has been released in Europe. Not sure about current availability in the US...

The Michelin Pilot Sport 5 is the replacement for the Pilot Sport 4, not the 4S. The 4S a higher performance tire and is being replaced by the S5 (yes, they've changing naming conventions again), which has been announced, but doesn't seem to be available yet outside OE installations.

From what I have seen/read the PS5 is not a replacement for the PS4S but a replacement for the PS4.
