997.2 PDK Fluid Change Cost
#31
I'm a bit confused by the 30K suggestion. At 60K and 120K miles my oil (and filter) looked brand new, although I did not perform a UOA. Other reports I've seen state the same. And the 991 interval was upped to 120K. Is it possible something else is going on with yours?

Hope that helps.

I just had my 12 year service with all the fluids known to Dr. Ing. F.A. Porsche replaced as well as the PDK pan. My mechanic was telling me there's some thought about changing the PDK clutch oil replacement frequency to 30k miles / 3 years. He said in his experience all the other oils usually come out fairly pristine but the PDK clutch fluid can be really funky looking if you wait until 60k miles.
I suspect that your mechanic is on a fishing expedition (looking to bag some more of your cash) with this recommendation.

I didn’t take it that way at all and as I said, it may have been something in context with the Macan or even my Panamera. With the 997.2 retired over 8 years, I’d doubt they’d modify the maintenance schedule at this point.

If one has Fidelity warranty and hasn't had the PDK oil service could that void any repair/replacement if something goes wrong with the tranny? I bought a 2011 GTS with 13K miles. It had about 15 service visits all at the same Porsche dealer but they can't/wont provide me with any details of what was done. It did seem like the previous owner gave carte blanche to the P dealer to do what they wanted. Carfax only says "recommended service performed".

For what it's worth, on my 2009 4S I had PDK clutch fluid change, front diff/all wheel drive controller fluid change and rear diff fluid change done at 80K because I couldn't document it had been correctly serviced at 60K. We did do the pan replacement as well . At an Indy, the total cost was $1437.50

Speaking of price, this was my 120K service. I was in the midst of finishing my kitchen rebuild and some other major home work so I got lazy and paid for the fluid changes beyond the PDK ...
Picture didn't attach, I'll try again ...
And one more try ...

Let the record show I will defer to @Wayne Smith and @Ironman88 as subject matters expert on this. I'm just happy to have all this work done and car running as new (probably psychosomatic feeling).
