AAA?
Mostly due to not having a spare tire I decided to join AAA today in case I need a tow. Thoughts on if this is worth it? Anyone else joined for this reason?

Incredibly worth it. If I’m not mistaken I get 10 flat bed tow’s a year. In the past I’ve had to use them for my alternator. When I had my clutch replaced and just didn’t want to have to worry about catching a ride home so they took it for me. I’ve been a hero to a colleague of mine when he locked his keys in his car. As long as I was there to show ID they came to open the door.
Other things AAA has helped me out w/ our other cars.
Replaced a battery in my wife’s Pilot.
In my 135i I’ve needed them for fuel issues, alternator,
starting issues, transmission issue.
Pro tip if your car is lowered remind them to use wood and to be easy pulling it on and taking it off the flatbed.

I have it but in my state (PA), they don’t allow them on the turnpike. I bought it with the 200 mile towing option in case I broke down at track (mid Ohio). They offer other services (plate and title transfers) which I’ve taken advantage of. Overall, I’ve been satisfied.

I have it for the 200 mile flatbed tow hoping I never need it. Worth it in my opinion as I live in Deep East Texas.

I originally signed up with AAA when we were taking road trips in our '32 Ford ( no spare) and we still have it 6 years later. Used it for a couple of jump starts on the Outback and we are now covered for the 911. They just did a road map plan in book form for a trip to Maine on 2 lane roads. It's worth the money.

Seriously useful. Great for jump starts and towing, both of which I've used in the past. Its nice to know you have them in your back pocket if something goes wrong on the road. Also got me and the woman a decent discount on travel plans to Italy.

Good to hear you guys back up my thoughts. I also got the higher towing package which was only a couple bucks a month more. I thought about trying to put a spare and jack in the frunk but this option seemed more appealing to me.

I just used them to flat bed me home when I got a flat rear tire. I also occasionally use them for other services and discounts. I have probably spent more on membership in the last 20 or so years than benefits I received but that is the nature of such insurance.

Called AAA today to tow my F-150 from in front of the house (bad starter I think). It took about 45 minutes for the truck to a arrive. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.

I am SUPER against their insurance but I think it is separate. The AAA service is also 100% worth it for their DMV services. In the last 20 years, I have only had to go to the DMV to retake my picture for my license and retake the written test. They have also saved me a bunch of times in my car, in other people's cars, and in rental cars. Totally worth it.

Have thru State Farm with auto policy. Cheaper per month and no mileage tow limit. Luckily haven’t used it yet. Now I’m jinxed I’m sure.
Joined AAA many yrs ago when they offered free first yr. Had a flat 1/3 mile from house. Decided to call them instead of changing myself. Guy shows up after an hr. Asks for lug nut wrench since he didn’t’ have metric. He didn’t have a jack. He gets tire off. Gets spare out. Says oh its flat. Said don’t you have air compressor? No. Told him was calling AAA and tell them not to pay. He got po’d. Left. Walked home, got truck, filled spare, installed, drove home, walked back and got car. Didn’t renew when they sent bill. Doubt different with any of the roadside offerers, they just line up local tow companies so really depends on that part of the service, not the provider.
