New 997 Owner. White on Cocoa leather, homage build.
TLDR: New owner of an 06 911 CS. Pics are below.
- It was a beautiful Saturday morning, I was out for my weekly joy ride in my E92 M3 with the windows down enjoying the symphony of 400 horses singing in unison when inevitably I hit traffic. Rather than allowing this piece of engineering marvel to remain stuck between a beige-ish brown Honda Oddesy, and a 50-shades-of-rust 1980's Mustang, I took the next turn off of my usual route and ventured into unknown territory. After driving a few miles I stumbled across the brand new Porsche dealership. Having just been completed a few months ago, I had only heard of its grandiose but had yet to see it in person. I decided to take a quick stop to see the new dealership.
After perusing the glorious GT2's, Turbo's, and the like, I came across a 997.
She's a 2006 911 S, Carerra White on "Special Natural Leather Cocoa Extended" as the tag read. This contrast between stark white and rich, dark brown leather was very appealing. Stepping inside felt like entering a 1960's cigar lounge and draping an English leather smoking jacket upon yourself.
The car is enthusiast spec with a 6 speed, manual seats, sport chrono package, PASM, Bose sound system, and not much else from the factory. I was intrigued.
I was provided receipts for both maintenance and mods done in the last year including -
Maintenance - RMS + associated engine seals, new clutch, tires, shocks/springs, and brakes.
Mods - VFD Brombacher stage 3 kit with tune, exhaust, and 100 cell cats, Eibach springs, Getty Ducktail, and a few other odds and ends. Had a recent dyno sheet that showed 372 to the wheel - impressive.
After a few days of back and forth, they agreed on a fantastic price and the car is now mine. I have been enjoying every minute behind the wheel thus far.
One thing I love about this particular car is the homage to classic Porsche. It's a well put together blend of modern and vintage and I intend to keep it as such. I firmly believe Porsche designed this car well from the factory so with subtle updates, my goal is to keep her looking OEM+.
Here are a few pics and a running chronology of my homage build.

Update: Deviated stitching is in the works! so far i have done the dash, PCM surround, shift boot and e brake handle. Next up will be seats and door cards.
Future Plans -
Updated PCM. Building a custom android solution that closely matches OEM look.
Wheels. I am looking at Fuchs or something of the like.

Wow. Amazing looking car, love love love Carrara White color on the 997. The ducktail look slick and inline with classic 911. Also, where did you get that quilted rear deck? Thanks.
I really miss my 997 cabriolet too. I think if you put on the front lip would complete the aggressive looks.

I am considering ordering the floor mats to match, but could be overkill.
