997.2 steering feel vs 987.2?
I absolutely love the feel of the 987.2 Boxster S steering feel. It is very heavy at low speeds, and truly you always know it is hydraulic in nature.
I have yet to have the chance to drive a 997.2 S. Would the steering feel be very similar to a 987.2? I read one review that mentioned a 997.2 had light steering, and that worried me.

Three Wheelin'
I had both cars at the same time and the steering feel was similar. Find one and drive it and all will be answered in full

Close, but yes, the 997 steering will feel may be 10% lighter. Especially a C2S. Not night and day, but in certain moments you will notice it. C4S steering is a bit heavier and closer to that of a 987 due to the front axles and more weight over the front end. You have to remember that the 987, by mid engine design, has more weight over the front wheels and this will affect your perceived steering feel input, especially at low speeds. It is absolutely NOT a deal breaker between 987 or 997 in the steering dept. The Steering feel in either 997 or 987 is world class and head and shoulders above the rest!!! You also have to bear in mind that the 987 exudes confidence in the handling dept, especially in tight turns. The 997, and especially older model years, still requires some patience on tight corner entry. The front end can push a bit if you are too hot on corner entry or too eager with the throttle mid corner. Which, I think, makes it a bit more exciting to tame and learn to drive.
Are you torn between purchasing one or the other? Or do you already own and 987 and considering the upgrade?
