HELP! Weird throttle hesitation on OZ track wheels?
So after swapping my wheels from the OEM to a set of 18" OZ Alleggerita HLT track wheels (with Toyo R888 tires) I get a very strange throttle hesitation when accelerating.through the rev range under load.
They are tiny mini/micro hesitations, not anything violent or dramatic but they can be felt.
The funny this is that when I swap to sport mode it goes away!
I can't understand what is happening!!!
The only thing is that with the OZ wheels I don't have tire pressure sensors so I get a TPM warning light.
Otherwise the wheels and tires are perfect and should not cause this problem.
It's happened both times I've installed them (for track days).
Thoughts??

Are they balanced? Right size for 18s? Did you check lug nuts?

I honestly don't understand what is happening. And the dealer had no clue.

Sounds like PSM is kicking in. In sport mode the thresholds for PSM are more aggressive so it's not kicking in.
Start by comparing your two wheel sets using an online calculator https://tiresize.com/calculator/. I'm betting the tire size on the OZ wheels are causing a rolling diameter difference front to back, probably from a difference greater than 5%.

This is what's happening.
