Default Help - Ipod compatibility for my 2012 GTS ??

I have an old Ipod touch that works fine on the 30pin adapter going into the DIN Ipod connector of my 2012 911, but can't seem to find an EQ app to download on it to improve sound, so I need a newer Ipod.

This same Porsche-supplied connector has a USB on it,so do I use that and hook it to the Lightning connector of an Ipod Touch 5th gen? I can still buy one of those. I tried an Iphone 7 I had laying around and that would not work.

Thanks for the help!

I have used a iPod 30 pin to lightning connector without issue. But you should also look at the Bovee 1000, it allows you to stream music, Waze, etc to the headunit. Further it allows full control with the radio ***** and displays the information. Sleek unit.

Thanks. I'm using it only as an Ipod, not a phone, and the problem is I have to turn on the ipod every time so the car even recognizes it's there. Will this unit fix that? I guess I could then plug the Ipod into the USB so it stays charged?

I am completely ignorant on these things because I don't like music as much as I used to. But after having my Toyota since 2012, I learned just last year that I can use a phone to find a video on YouTube then play on the car via bluetooth. Can I do this in my 911 also ? (2011) I only listen to NPR and still use CDs. (oh god i'm old)

Mine automatically pairs with my phone when I start the car. When I was using the 30 pin connector to an old iPod 30gig it would automatically recognize it when I started the car. No need to reconnect.

I have a 2011 997.2 and I found that the small 30-pin-to-Lightning adapter (about the size of a postage stamp) didn't work with my Lightning iOS devices (including an iPod), but the 8-inch-long 30-pin-to-Lightning adapter did work. Here's the adapter that worked for me. Good luck!
