Default 992 C2S or 718 GT4 or Spyder?

Recently saw the new release of the 718 GT4 and Spyder. Power #'s are very similar to and the price point is actually slightly lower than the 992 C2S. All are going to be unlimited production so there is no rarity factor involved. Question is, which one would you rather have?

I like the extra 2 mini seats in the back of the 911, but I’d only choose the 992 if it was in manual.

I would rather have neither.

I'd like a 997 generation 911. I already have one. I'd actually have about 5 more before I'd have either one of the cars mentioned.

If someone gave me a 718 or 992 for free I'd immediately sell either one and go buy something else.

Would prefer older gen spyder over any of those and my car over them all.

Would prefer a 997 GT3RS over my car though!!!

As a non Porsche owner, but admitted mid engine lover.....the GT4 all day every day

the GT4 will hold the most value and kill it on track day

If I had that much money, I'd be looking for a used Turbo or Audi R8.

Neither. Depending on budget either a 997.2 base manual or a 991.2 base manual is all the 911 you will ever need for street use/fun. For best mid engine street use we will have to wait for the 718 Touring (will have the flat 6 and will be fixed wingless unlike the 718 Gt4)

true....there are many options in the $115,000 range.....including clean F430's and maybe a slightly used NSX 2.0

Spyder. 992 is too ugly. If don't have back seats, might as well have top down option.

Sticking to the script in the OP, I would go for the GT4. I find it interesting when my 997 C2S is parked next to my cousin's 718 GTS, that they are the same size. I don't really think I would go for the bigger 991s unless it was a GT3, and the 992 doesn't really look like an option to me yet. However, I would also take the original GT4 over my C2S in a hot second too, so maybe I should consider that...although, 997 GT3 over all else. hmmmm.

The only 911 newer than a 997.2 I have any interest in owning is the new Speedster, but it's 991 based. I don't like the 992 at all. Also don't think the new turbo 4 is as good as the NA 6 in a sports car, so I'm in the None of the above camp. I'd go 997 GT3 or Turbo.

Pete, the new GT4 and Spyder utilize NA Flat 6’s instead of turbo 4’s or 6’s. That’s why I was curious to know if people would be interested in these even though they aren’t 911’s.

Good to know. Thanks. Never really looked at the 2 seaters other than the 987.2 Boxster Spyder, which is the only one I'd own. If the new Spyder looks like that, it would get my vote over the 992.

I'm with you - the 997 is the last of the classic Porsche shape. But IMHO, the 991 cab looks better than the 997. And I guess this car could sway me.

In cab form, you may be right as that car is gorgeous. Love the rear CF and the recessed decklid and how that works with the rear fender shape.

Don't think I'll ever come around on the 992 though. Maybe the 993 - wait - already like them quite a bit Guess they'll have to go with the 994 nomenclature.
